I highly recommend watching the documentary, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. Jason and I rented it a few weeks ago-- coincidentally, Ken Lay and Jeffrey Skilling were on trial at the time. Today, a jury found Lay and Skilling guilty on most counts of fraud and you-name-it. I was shocked at just how dirty these guys were, especially Skilling and Andrew Fastow. Living on the east coast at the time of the rolling blackouts, I didn't realize that it was the traders on the Enron floor who were telling power stations to shut down, in order to drive up the price of power. Watching it, I realized that Enron is indirectly responsible for Jason's dad being laid off for seven months. And it is indirectly responsible for Arnold Schwarzeneggar being the governor of California. Yowza. Watch the documentary (or read the book by the same name) and you'll be celebrating when Lay and Skilling are sentenced to jail on Sept. 11th of this year.
